About

The Workbook of A Course Miracles has 365 lessons. These reflections follow the lessons from beginning to end in one year. It is hoped, then, that this blog will provide the motivation to complete the Workbook, as well as bringing to life the teachings of ACIM. Ultimately, it is hoped that we learn enough to start listening to the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

The Workbook needs to be completed in order to get a handle on how to listen to the Holy Spirit. To ‘listen’ might not be the right term here – to ‘feel’ or to ‘sense’ might be more accurate. Whatever term is the most accurate, we just have to begin and finish the Workbook. We do this with just one rule, and this is that we do not complete it in less than a year. We can take as long as we want but we never do more than one lesson in one day. And, even if we don’t understand the particular lesson that we are doing, we just do it anyway.

Quite often, life gets in the way. We feel too busy or too tired. We procrastinate or feel resentful. We might be asked to repeat a lesson on the hour or the half hour, and we forget for large parts of the day. We are asked to do one thing, and we do another. Or we just decide to stop for a few days. None of this actually matters. The most important thing is that we just continue. We do our best.

The reflections within this blog are the result of reading a page or two from the Text in the morning. I then look at the lesson and use the words that I have read to interpret it. The holographic nature of A Course in Miracles becomes very apparent. Everything within ACIM complements everything else.

Meanwhile, every week, on a Thursday and beginning on the 29th April, I include a YouTube video. It begins with a series of talks from Cate Grieves, a teacher of A Course in Miracles from Melbourne, Australia. Then, there are more near-death experiences, as well as pre-birth experiences. The reason for this is that these accounts give another perspective on a greater reality. They are intensely personal, and yet they all portray the same message. We are not what we think we are. We are infinitely greater, infinitely more powerful, than this small self we call “me”.

In fact the “me”, within the context of A Course in Miracles, does not exist.  It tells us we are simply dreaming it. The near-death experience also highlights the dream-like nature of the world. The point, therefore, is to make our lives a happier dream. Our goal is to experience joy instead of pain, love instead of hate. We see the real world and not the false world. I hope you enjoy.

A list of the YouTube videos is included below. Click on the link directly or find the page and watch the video if you want.
